:help: hey all, my audio has decided to go on holiday:( all the messages i get say that i have no sound hardware i have run my spyware programs but no help there, this is very frustrating as i don't know where to start.:badpc: any help would be greatly appreciated. thanks Ken |

If u have XP go to sounds in control panel / audio tab, make sure the default is on the soundcard.
And check device manager under sound, and see if the name of the soundcard is still showing here. |

Have you installed/received any updates for Wndows recently? A friend's computer lost the audio when he (somehow) downloaded the same update that was coming through on Automatic Updates, and ended up with the same pack installed twice. We used System Restore to roll back the system to before the second pack installed itself (the entries in System Restore for the same pack were minutes apart), and this fixed the problem. |
