531451 2007-03-09 20:51:00 And adding up everything left in add or remove programs only comes to about 1.525gb..

so ?........what about the installation of windows itself that'll take up 1.5gb easily .....my point being that the stuff showing in 'add remove progs' is no where near all the stuff on the pc.......someone mentinoed 'spacemonger' get it it'll give you a great graphical representation of what's on the drive......

531452 2007-03-09 21:39:00 He's got enough space to install the game - he should just go ahead and do it. Greg (193)
531453 2007-03-09 23:44:00 How do I tell which is and isnt in use?
Windows shouldn't let you delete any files which are in use but if you want to play safe don't delete files with todays date on them...

531454 2007-03-10 02:21:00 I need a little more space still - the game is on but the patches need more space to install.

I'm gonna buy a Flash drive (1 or 2gb) and put Photoshop and MS Word onto it and run them from there.

My question: Do I need to install the two programs onto the flash drive, or just drag something?

531455 2007-03-10 02:28:00 HOLY CRAP!!!

I just deleted the valve/steam folder from Programs Files and it cleared up 7gb!!! It was even too big for the recycling bin!

An interpretation, please, of valve/steam folder - for those of us who don't recognise the phrase.

Edit: And why isn't the quote thingy blue, as it should be?

531458 2007-03-10 04:24:00 . . . Edit: And why isn't the quote thingy blue, as it should be?It's not quoted on a blue wash, because you omitted the trailing "]" on the closing tag . The [ quote= . . . ] opening tag needs the [ /quote ] tag for the construct to be identified and executed . It's a syntax thing . ;) Graham L (2)

Thank you, Graham .

531460 2007-03-10 05:20:00 This all makes no sense at all to me - new drives are so cheap that you could get 320 gigs for about $180, why would you spend five minutes trying to organise what would now be considered a tiny drive. My Mp3 collection alone takes up more space than the entire size of that drive. Twelvevolts (5457)
