| 531486 | 2007-03-09 08:24:00 | Hello! I am wanting to purchase some more memory for my computer which is an AMD Athlon 64*2 4200+ I already have a total of 1 Gig comprised of two 512mb unbuffered 184pin DDR400 DIMM (Legend L6464D37 BU1HDHSC). I am considering the Legend (D6464D67) 512MB, DDR400, PC3200 DIMM 184-pin but need to know if this is compatible with my system and existing memory. Can anyone help with this, seems so very confusing and given you can't return it one does not want to get it wrong Stefan |

It doesnt matter, the identical dimms only need to be for the bank pair, meaning dual channel for bank 1 with 2 sticks and dual channel for bank 2 with 2 staick(slots) |

| 531490 | 2007-03-09 17:59:00 | Hi, thanks for the reply I basically have four memory slots, two yellow and two blue. At present there is one memory DIMM placed in a blue slot and one in the yellow. It is my understanding that when I purchase the new memory I will just place it in the exiting empty blue and yellow slots? Regards |

| 531491 | 2007-03-09 19:03:00 | What make and model of motherboard have you? The RAM you have now should have been both in the blue or in the yellow slots to take advantage of DDR assuming your motherboard supports this feature. | Sweep (90) | ||

Did you install the current RAM?, because I think you have it installed incorrectly . The RAM banks are colour coded, Blue bank 1 yellow bank 2, so at the moment, your RAM should be in the same colour slots . |
