| 531211 | 2007-03-08 07:22:00 | When I install a new ink cartridge the computer recognises this and asks me to do a test alignment. I print the test page, scan it and all is well. Last time, it seemed ok but now asks me to align the printer everytime I freshly turn it on. The printer is perfectly aligned and re-aligning does not make the problem go away. Am I missing something? thanks in advance Ojos |

| 531212 | 2007-03-08 08:01:00 | Have you tried removing and then reinstalling ( h10025.www1.hp.com) the cartridge? You can also manually by-pass the alignment (h10025.www1.hp.com) and see if that helps. I had alignment problems with my HP PSC 1610 last week and this was resolved after some advice from the HP NZ phone support, so if you are still stuck, give them a call. They were very helpful and I had a follow up call to ask if things were still OK. :) |

(From HP help page, URL below) h10025.www1.hp.com Does the power light on the printer flash to indicate alignment is happening, then stops, to indicate success? Apparently the printer remembers the alignment setting ( not the computer/printer driver ), perhaps a printer problem? Maybe a dirty connection on printer cartridge contacts? Maybe a dud cartridge? :2cents: |
