Copy and paste the entries I posted to start/run and press enter. You'll have less chance of putting in the wrong filename.

Its atl(L).dll not ati(I).dll and its wucl(L)tui.dll not wuci(I)tui.dll, which maybe why it couldnt find it. You typed it in wrong.

531008 2007-03-10 07:34:00 Still no luck...did what you suggested, and used cut and paste to run dlls. All ran ok. Always get a message, previous to main error message, that files are missing .It downloads for a few seconds, then main error message. Could I try reinstalling windows?Do you loose data this way.Any other suggestions or should I wait till I can afford Vista?
Thanks again

531009 2007-03-10 17:35:00 Try this. Close browser/s

1. Click Start.
2. Choose Run.
3. In the Run box, type: regsvr32 MSXML 3. DLL
Press okay

If that hasn't helped you may need to re-registered some more files:

2. Choose Run.
3. In the Run box, type (pressing okay after each one) :-

net stop wuauserv

Repeat for the following:
regsvr32 wuapi.dll
regsvr32 wups.dll
regsvr32 wuaueng.dll
regsvr32 wuaueng 1. dll
regsvr32 wucltui.dll
regsvr32 wuweb.dll
regsvr32 MSXML 3. dll
regsvr32 qmgr.dll
regsvr32 qmgrprxy.dll
regsvr32 jscript.dll

net start wuauserv
