530880 2007-03-07 02:52:00 I'm after some drivers for a FortMedia FM801-AS PCI sound card.

I've had a good look thru google and yahoo and have not had any luck so far.
I found one om "Drives Guide" but it was an un complete download.
Does anyone have this driver laying around that the could email to me or i could pay for postage.

I've also been thinking that it maybe a good idea if we all started a "Drivers Data bank Site" for all the good people that hang around here fixing computers. It could be come a very good resource for us so we don't have to spend precious time on the net looking for drivers that always take us to half a dozen links before we get to the end to find that the actual link is down or another a broken link. Only available to members of course.

Just a thought.
Cheers,

530881 2007-03-07 03:04:00 Most of the drivers that are needed (for most systems) are on the manufacturer's site.

Or on the mobo cd (If u buy parts to make a system up).

Well thats if its a well known brand. Or for onboard sound.

It may also depend on how old a soundcard is (altho some sites (even the manufacturer's site) have drivers for discontinued hardware).

Looks like there's some drivers for Win 95 and XP (and maybe other OS's) on Driverguide (www.driverguide.com) or here (members.driverguide.com)

You'll have to register to get them.

I tried that site before posting here. ;)
The download appears to be corrupt and the link to the Fort media websites support page is under construction
