| 531804 | 2007-03-11 03:34:00 | I was just wondering if it might be better to use NTFS on my Fireflys instead of the FAT32 or FAT system that they come with. Any thoughts? I guess I could use the convert (x): /fs:ntfs technique? Is this gonna mess the Fireflys up? |

| 531805 | 2007-03-11 04:16:00 | Given the still slightly shaky longterm reliability of pen drives, maybe it is worth considering which file system is easiest to do data recovery from? What has the best/easiest selection of tools? In these respects, ntfs is sometimes Not Too Failure(?) Smart. Even 240 volts struggles with it at times. |

| 531807 | 2007-03-11 22:30:00 | I was asking because (perhaps wrong info here) NTFS has better use of space than either of the FAT systems. Someone told me that NTFS is more dynamic and can "float" the files into areas that require less sector consumption...kinda like the old "pack" command. |

| 531808 | 2007-03-12 11:11:00 | You can use compression on NTFS file-systems... but why bother, you probably wont be saving much space. Try it, backup your data.. see how you go. Cant hurt to, right? |
