| 531556 | 2007-03-09 22:07:00 | Hi All. I am having a bit of a problem with my sound that is really annoying me. the story is, is that I finally managed to do a CLEAN install of windows XP Pro (from an XP cd, not my recovery discs). it is certainly going much swifter now anyway. I found correct drivers for all of my hardware, including the drivers for my Conexant HD Audio. All installed fine, and everything is working fine, except for my sound. It is really strange, it says that everything is working fine, but I get no sound. If I uninstall the driver under device manager and reboot, the card gets redetected and works just fine - until I reboot again - when it goes back to no sound again. In other words, every time I want sound, I have to uninstall the device, and reboot. Any help would be greatly appreciated!!!! PS: it is a compaq notebook and I got my drivers from the compaq website. |
