| 531730 | 2007-03-11 00:01:00 | Hey guys this thread is regarding a Blue screen which was probably the same error causing my computer to restart multiple times, This problem was discussed at :Internet crash followed be Restart (www.pressf1.co.nz) And now I have some actual information which could help a great deal :) Please Note that the blue screen was somewhat distorted and hard to read, but I made out the text to be this (some parts may be wrong): ================================================== ======== Caused by: ati/dvag The driver device got stuck in an infinite loop. This usually indicates problem with the device itself or with the device driver programming the hardware incorrrectly. ***STOP: 0x000000EA (0x85B74188, 0x862DA108, 0xF7C6DCBC, 0x00000001) ati2dvag ================================================== ======== Now im not sure if the first part of it said ati/dvag or ati2dvag, but the second one was more clear, so its probably ati2dvag. And before I got the blue screen part of my screen got distorted and I couldnt see anything in that part of the screen, it then froze and turned into a Blue screen... Any help is much appreciated! Thanx, Dan Idiotica |

| 531731 | 2007-03-11 00:13:00 | You should have kept this in the other post. I would uninstall ALL the ATI drivers. Then use something like Drivercleaner (www.softpedia.com) Install this then boot into safe mode, then run it then select the ATI and CCC options and it'll removes all ATI entries. Then reinstall the latest drivers. Also make sure .NET framework 2 is installed, and the patches (u may also need .Net framework 1.1) you need them for the ATI drivers from the ATI site. Have a read of this (support.microsoft.com) |
