532583 2007-03-13 04:45:00 ive been tinkering around with DOS and must have changed some settings.

whether i creat a new folder with the mouse, or go 'md xxxx', in DOS, it is a read only. So i cant delete it within DOS by going 'del xxx'

help please

532584 2007-03-13 04:49:00 attrib -r *.* might work. It works in real DOS. (*.* will do all files (maybe directories, too, but that might want just "*". The name of one item will always work). Graham L (2)
532585 2007-03-13 04:53:00 nope. doesnt seem to change anything. still read only wawape**s (11201)
532586 2007-03-13 05:01:00 ok. on the 'read only' box, its colored green instead of a tick.

I dont know what that means.

But i still cant be able to delete a folder from dos by going 'del new folder'

532589 2007-03-13 05:17:00 Try using the correct command . del deletes files; rd ("Remove Directory") deletes directories . :D

When it asks you if you are sure, it's asking if you want to delete any files in the directory . (see the "\*" it added) .

Thinking about it, if it had been an attribute problem, DOS would have told you that . Try the attrib command, with no arguments or options to confirm that .
