532471 2007-03-12 21:44:00 Is anyone out there having problems with the North Shore library Website?

Have used this site for years and had no problems, but for the last month a strange page comes up when asked to search the catalogue for a certain book. The site is "shorelibraries.govt.nz". Have talked with the library people and they have had a few complaints, but seem unable to help me.

Have done all the usual searches for virus, trojans etc.and unloaded and reloaded the site many times.

Any ideas welcome as her inside uses me to order her books...Ron..

Can you give us a bit more info on this strange page? & what search term your using when you get this strange page?

532473 2007-03-12 22:52:00 I use the Rodney Library site.
Just tried it and have no issues like you mentioned.
I just linked to the North Shore Library thru the Rodney web page and did a search and had no trouble?.

I'm using Firefox though. What are you using?

532474 2007-03-13 00:52:00 To Stu and Lazydog, thanks for the reply. First I am using IE. and the search is done after filling in the request, just press search.

To describe the page that appears is a bit difficult. The top third of the page is all computer gobbly guck. Underneath is a small replica of the main page with the search instructions on. I tried filling in the required details on this page, but all it does is to clear the screen and bring the same page back again and again and again.

I have saved this page to the desktop and can send it to anyone interested.

532475 2007-03-13 01:23:00 Sorry, but I am a little low on flyspray so am unwilling to try I Exploder. With FF 2 it works well.
I am reminded that it is almost time to sing "Happy Birthday" to the announcement that the Birkenhead Library is slightly delayed. Another public body saga of skill, dedication, and expense. This is the very library I don't pass twice a day going to and from work. All that's there is a safety fence (Rented at great expense no doubt) protecting some grass and weeds from the dangerous book (non) borrowing public. All the site needs is a treaty claim and a couple of camping protesters and life will be full to the brim.
Do not watch this space.

The Birkenhead Public Library is now overdue. Please return it as soon as possible.

532478 2007-03-13 04:38:00 Well I did 3 searches in IE6, no sign of any problems. zqwerty (97)
532479 2007-03-13 04:47:00 Sounds like something funny with their site - given they've had other complaints ( I assume you mean about the same thing.) What is this "shorelibraries.govt.nz"
anyway? Sounds like some webmaster genius stuck something extra in & messed it up. (Easy to do :)

532480 2007-03-13 21:54:00 shorelibraries.govt.nz is the website for the north shore libraries, set up by the north shore city council.
They have a "webmaster" whom I have been in contact with, but she seems unable to help with the problem..
Am thinking now of a conflict with something I have installed recently, but if this is so, the other people with the problem, must have done the same. Would be a hell of a coincidence..
