532426 2007-03-12 19:28:00 I'm moving out of home on Sunday (Finally ) & I need to have some form of internet available .
I don't need Broadband type speeds, Dial up would be fine, Just to check my email, chat on MSN & browse the odd web page .

I'm moving into a flat with no land line .
In New Plymouth, Banks Street Which is 1-2Km SW from the center of the City .

I looked at using my cell as a modem but it was 0 . 6 cents per 100 Byte packets .
Which works out to be 60c a KB? which seems extravagant .
. telecom . co . nz/content/0,8748,202032-201933,00 . html" target="_blank">www . telecom . co . nz

Does anyone have any suggestion's on what I could use for internet?

Also When is Naked DSL coming out? As I could get a phone line installed & just get a basic broadband plan .
I thought it was meant to be out round about now but the Business pages in the Herald(?) a week or so ago makes me think Telecon is still trying to slow it all down .

As usual, I am extremely grateful for any help provided

P . S Not sure where or if it's needed but, I have a desktop computer with WinXP home, I have a wireless . . . card installed in the computer .

P . P . S on another side note anyone know of a decent/quiet icafe in NP if all else fails :stare:

532427 2007-03-12 19:35:00 You could try Vodafone's 3g: vodafone.co.nz

Otherwise I don't think you'll have a choice but to pay for line rental, and get dialup (or ADSL).
