533718 2007-03-17 00:39:00 i have a 1.5 ghz amd sempron it says in the motherboard book i can add a intel penitum 4 mPGA478 chip on it but im not intierly sure it ill work any one know if it does work with a 1.5ghz amd sempron motherboard?:( lincolnsback (11983)
533719 2007-03-17 04:34:00 Nope. If it has a Sempron thats AMD. No Intel CPUs will fir an AMD motherboard. pctek (84)
533720 2007-03-17 04:56:00 you MUST be reading the 'book' wrong cause a sempron is ether socket 462 or socket 754 and a intel is most likely a socket 478........totally incompatible... drcspy (146)
533721 2007-03-17 04:56:00 It doesn't sound like you are looking in the correct motherboard manual. Are you sure the book belongs to the motherboard in your computer? FoxyMX (5)

Well... if you hammered it in the socket... it might stay in there... but it won't go :waughh:

533724 2007-03-18 02:56:00 From memory. Ages ago I had a motherboard then converted a slot from Intel to PGA in which was fitted an AMD processor.

A K6 I think.

Anyway to quote from original I see:-
"i can add a intel penitum 4 mPGA478 chip on"

I used a PGA something but it is quite a while now.

It may be best if we went back to square one.

What say we can get lincolnsback to use something like Belarc. Then frame the question in English. Then find out what is actually happening. I would need a system report to find out what motherboard I am dealing with. Other than being there and open the case that is.

This before we give the quick advice before anyone knows what the story is.
