I have one gmail address overrun by spam (which it sorts very well I have to say), and a hotmail address with no junk mail at all. i was getting spam on my hotmail, that wasn't being filtered, before i even began using it.... |

| 533631 | 2007-03-18 09:41:00 | i was getting spam on my hotmail, that wasn't being filtered, before i even began using it.... That's exactly what happened with my first gmail address. Since it was based around my real name I didn't give it out willy-nilly. My guess is the person who gave me the invite did something stupid. It does recognise almost all spam, seldom any in the inbox. My last hotmail addy, set up about 18mths ago, has zero junk. I'm not a hotmail devotee. I use an @hotmail address as my default web fill-in because I've had it since before google was formed. It does the job, but I do recommend and set up gmail accounts for any family and aquaintances who need a webmail address. (some people still give out WAY too much personal info to any form that has a space.) |

MS won't succeed of course . In some ways you can understand the way they operate - of *course* they want to crush the competition . Thing is MS often seems to be so petty in their competitive responses . |

I get them to eMail me on my old Hotmail addy and they always appear in the junk eMail bin until I move them to the inbox and add them to the safe list. This is also talked about in quite a few places on the web, so it is not just me. Strange??? I wasn't on the contacts list or in my safe list when I emailed my hotmail from gmail, went straight to the inbox. I do believe you. Just maybe it doesn't happen to every gmail address. |
