533303 2007-03-15 23:01:00 Hi All.
Just a small problem.. I am on XP & the UK is on XP.

I am trying to send a Document, ending in .doc. However his computer will not accept it, says it may contain a virus. What do I, or he, need to do to get it thro? Thanks. PJ

533304 2007-03-15 23:13:00 They may have to disable the option under tools / security tab (do not allow attachments to be saved or opened that could potentially be a virus).

If they're using OE. Its a security feature.

533305 2007-03-15 23:16:00 have you tried zipping it and sending it?

To be a bit nosey, what is in the document?
Can you save it as a text file or .rtf and then send it or does it have features that require it to be in doc format

That is a 'feature' of outlook . Try using winzip to first zip it, and then send it . Alternatively you could upload it to a website or server, and then send him the link .

533308 2007-03-16 00:39:00 Try re-naming it to "whatever.old", when it gets there the person at the other end names it back to "whatever.doc" to open it when they have it on their computer. zqwerty (97)
533309 2007-03-16 03:43:00 Wouldn't hurt to run a virus scan over the document too - just in case you have caught a nasty and are unwittingly passing it on... johcar (6283)

You can put a password on the server, so only people with the username and password can access it.
