| 534735 | 2007-03-21 01:25:00 | Hi, I have recently purchased an IBM motherboard, and identified it as a Netvista A40 Type 6830/6831 Mobo manual is here: ftp://ftp.software.ibm.com/pc/pccbbs/netvista_pdf/22p2896.pdf However, the problem is that instead of having labelled connectors for the front panel connections (Power switch/led, hdd led etc), it has one block, that is obviously designed for a standard IBM connection of sorts. I am just wondering if anyone knows the layout of these pins, so I can connect the appropriate pins to the connectors. It's a block of 20 pins, 2 rows of 10. Thanks in advance! Roddy |

It doesnt even mention the front panel connector. 10 are most probably for the power/power/hdd LED, reset, and the other 10 for the mic/audio in if the front of this case has input for either. |

There's 8 pins in the block. I found out that 7 and 8 are the power switch pins, so have connected that switch up, and that's working fine. My problem now is that I can't get into the bios to set the boot order - Windows keeps trying to boot from HDD, which isn't working due to a recent hardware change (namely the new motherboard). On boot it gives my gfx card info, then goes to a blue IBM logo, then changes to the windows error. Can anyone lend some advice as to where to go from here? |

It's kinda outta focus, it's showing the top right hand corner of the mobo if you're looking with the I/O ports on the left (same orientation as the manual diagram). I have connected the power switch as you can (kinda) see. Attached file: Image032.jpg (www.imagef1.net.nz) (134 KB) |
