534567 2007-03-20 11:58:00 I have an mail account with Netscape (now Aol)when I try to login after giving username and passwordit directs me to another page. But about a half second later it directs me to a second page, then back to the first. then the second. Forever. I am not directed to either of the pages for long enough to establish a connection. Is this an Aol or Firefox problem?. bugalugs67 (9647)
534568 2007-03-20 12:02:00 Hard to tell. Best way to tell is try in IE. trinsic (6945)
534569 2007-03-20 12:07:00 it is probably an IE only site. sometimes sites do things that if rendered correctly would do strange stuff like that, but IE just ignores the instructions Greven (91)
534570 2007-03-20 20:47:00 AOL.

Its nasty, its spyware. I've seen it cause all sorts of problems with websites, like you say.
Remove all the AOL stuff that has been installed along with Netscape, and also go into Network Connections and take out the AOL reference there too.

You'd be better off using Firefox or Mozilla thah Netscape these days.

Netscape are using the Firefox base for the browser, it’s essentially Firefox with more extensions installed by default. Many people prefer it over Firefox.

The advances Netscape 8 offers over FireFox make this a clear choice in many users opinion.

534572 2007-03-20 23:02:00 Have you tried using Internet Explorer (rather than firefox) to log in, and do you still get the error

Also the old @netscape.net accounts no longer exist they have been replaced by @aim.com accounts or at least mine was, so to log in you go to the aim.com homepage

I should have said i had a netscape account and was able to access it fine from firefox and i can access the new aim account just as easily from firefox, but do try it in IE as that will at least rule out browser issues if it keeps happening

534575 2007-03-22 01:40:00 Thanks for your replies. I had thought it was an 'I will only talk to IE' problem but I had been getting through with Firefox up until about 6 weeks ago.

Trouble is I've lost IE (great :) ) so will have to reinstall

When Netscape was Netscape I did like it. It was the browser I used.
