| 534449 | 2007-03-20 06:35:00 | Hi all. I hope someone here will be able to help me out. Here's the problem: For years now i've been using Windows XP Professional and really like the operating system. But yesterday I formatted the pc clean and installed Windows Vista Ultimate and this is where my problems start. My current network setup is as follows: PC has an onboard network port, and a seperate network card. The onboard network port is connected to my TelstraClear Cable Modem. The standalone network card is connected to a cheap 5 port switch, which in turn is connected to my original xbox allowing for storage on it's harddrive via FTP and to my Xbox 360. When using Windows XP I had no problems using this setup to connect to the xbox via ftp, and allowing the xbox360 to connect to Xbox Live (when the pc was turned on) Since changing to Vista Ultimate I can no longer get access to Xbox Live. This is frustrating me to no end as i'm currently addicted to Gears Of War online :P I also have no access to my original xbox via FTP. If someone could please guide me through the setup of all this in Windows Vista i'll be very appreciative. Thanks in advance :) |

Other than this minor set back, Vista has my thumbs up... As soon as im sure i can do everything i need to from within vista i'll get rid of XP and stick with Windows Vista Ultimate and Ubuntu Ultimate 1.3 As far as i'm concerned, Vista is a success. :) |

And i've even tried it with just modem and xbox360 plugged into the switch yet still no luck. Maybe i need a proper router rather than a $30 switch? |

For those who are already a xbox360 member wont have to do anything extra or pay anything extra,Well maybe you will have to pay extra cause xbox360 windows live as its called is only for vista users who are xbox 360 members . |
