ScanModem from LinModems is what you'll be after: http://linmodems.org/ Everything you need should be on the site. After its told you what you need in the form of drivers, it may then be a case of Googling for the Ubuntu-specific .deb packages :) Post back the results from scanModem Cheers Chill. 534426	2007-03-24 08:36:00	Hi, I've tried a number of Linux distros, and ended up with Ubuntu. Mostly because their 'absolute beginers' forum' is so helpful. But with all the distros: I tried I never got an internal modem to work. Then on TradeMe I bought an external modem for $15 - and it worked. I dont think it needed any conf:, it just dialed up once I'd done the ISP thing. I've since bought another external modem (for $10 but it needed a connection wire - $15 from DSE), and that works too. Modem was to me the biggest problem with Linux. No www=no point in having a pc. Good luck...............Sarum	sarum (6222)
