For those who are already a xbox360 member wont have to do anything extra or pay anything extra,Well maybe you will have to pay extra cause xbox360 windows live as its called is only for vista users who are xbox 360 members. Personally, i prefer playing on my 42 inch Hi Def TV. My monitor doesn't really compare. All the same, this thread has wandered away from my initial question. I'd still like some help with my problem if someone knows anything about these sorts of things? :) |

| 534460 | 2007-03-21 03:07:00 | Maybe i need a proper router rather than a $30 switch? That sounds like your problem to me. I also have vista and all I had to do to get the 360 working again was redo the extender setup. (I'm using a router by the way.) Was up and running again in no time. |

OR dynamic? The easiest way to fix your problem would be to buy a broadband router and plug the modem into that instead of your PC. |

| 534463 | 2007-03-21 11:57:00 | If it helps I had to install weird vista network protocol patches onto my XP machines before they would all come to the party. It was KB 922120 | Wils_tar (12021) | ||
| 534464 | 2007-03-21 12:10:00 | Why not have the cable modem connected directly to the 5 port switch? That way you don't need to have the PC on for the xbox to get internet access. FlashFXP should work with Vista for FTP to the original xbox. |

| 534465 | 2007-03-21 12:51:00 | having a cheap switch rather than a proper router won't matter. if it was xp i'd say set up a network bridge and/or ensure that it's configured to share intenet access. seeing as it's vista all i can suggest is cleaning up your network and running your pc and xbox straight from the switch plugged to the modem, or straoght from the modem if at all possible. this way you need not leave your pc on and you may get less slightly less latency while playing online. assuming your typical nz internet isn't total ****e:rolleyes: |
