534950 2007-03-25 09:27:00 i was thinking the same thing, perhaps afterwards a could bring some sli experience back here with me too...

i think i'll sort out my windows install and then post elsewhere if i still have no luck.

last call for people who have actually got a working sli setup!Hmm, you can spend $1500 for an overclocking machine?
I thought of getting an overclocking MOBO with decents parts but it didn't seem to work out so it cost me $3000+. Maybe I should try something with zero knowledge in overclocking. But Gigabyte N680i series is pretty cool compare to striker extreme is not worth it.

what?

i chose parts i knew would overclock well. not just the ones with the highest price tag

anyway, i follow the belief that you don't need to spend thousands on gaming, sure an 8800GT would be nice alonside an FX74, but frankly you don't need that much power and if you did have those you wouldn't need to overclock. see my sig below. i'm overclocking mainly to get that extra bit of juice out of my 3800+ and 6600gt, rather than spending mega bucks upgrading.

534952 2007-03-29 11:02:00 well i found this (forums.nvidia.com)

apparently nvidia still hasn't gotten around to combining dual monitor and sli

so i disabled dualview, and guess what? it worked!:D

now i've salvaged an old sis6326 8mb pci card to run my second monitor, but it wont work. windows installed drivers for it and anything else i offer it it won't accept because they "aren't as new" (apparently the wrong drivers are the best solution).

so, anyone with any experience with running pci graphics cards from win95 days (drivers up to win2000/nt/me readily available)

any other possible issues? the card works, the pci slot works, it's recognised in the bios and by windows, and it's pretty well seated in the slot. device manager says "that the device cannot start (code 10)"

oh i reckon, i've downloaded the drivers from ati seeing as their cd doesn't have them (and man their site has sh*t bandwidth), and now i cant even see the device:mad:
