535087 2007-03-22 09:24:00 Have you tried using "Save for Web"? PaulD (232)
535088 2007-03-22 09:30:00 Have you tried saving it as a different pic ie xxxsmall.jpeg then make sure that is the one you are uploading to Trade Me.

If you are unsure you can find the 'minimised' pic in your folder, right click on it then click 'properties' in the drop down menu and it will list the size in kb of the photo (I think Trade Me has to be under 500kb?)

535089 2007-03-22 09:51:00 Save as a jpg with file size as 1 or less. Alternatively in the file menu Image>image size> adjust settings accordingly. First option is probably the best though. winmacguy (3367)
535090 2007-03-23 01:31:00 The key factor here is that having minimized the photo you have to SAVE it. Otherwise it goes back to its original state. heaton (3697)
535091 2007-03-23 05:06:00 In the file menu Image-image size (F8) then set about 640 x 480 pixels & resolution to 72dpi. File - Save as-(new file name.jpg).In Jpeg options, set quality to about 7 to 9 for trademe or web use. Bobs yer uncle! fnphoto (2434)

535093 2007-03-23 06:34:00 And even though I have Photoshop, I do all my resizing in Irfanview. Fantastic program. supergran (108)

Works exactly the same in Photoshop, just choose the jpg option when saving as.

Not true, sorry winmacguy. All that does is reduce the file size by compression (i.e. reducing quality). It is not physically reducing the size of the image.

By the way Windows xp can also physically reduce the size of an image in an email by right clicking on the .jpg image file - send to - Mail Recipient then in the Send Pictures via E-Mail select - make all my images smaller .
