1413199 2015-12-21 10:51:00 Hey Guys,
I completely stuffed up and accidently reformatted a HDD I was using for storage of files, photos and car racing videos (I was trying to sort a portable drive that didn't seem to be working).
Is there a Data recovery program I can use that most people recommend?
I have tried a couple of free ones but I didn't have much luck with them.

If you have formatted the HDD, then dont go adding anything else to it other wise you run the risk of over writing.

Just had to do a recovery of a HDD thats had the partitions deleted a couple of times to try to recover some data a customer said they didn't want a month ago. Found it :) How usable it is is another question. A 1TB drive took roughly 14 hours to scan and recover.

Have you written anything else to the HD after formatting it ?

Unformat should be easy enough , even used to be a dos command for it.

No I haven't written anything to it. I tried Recuva but didn't work as I expected (Unless I missed something?).
I'll try the above to see how it goes.
Will the Unformat return the drive to how it was, or is this something different?
Thanks again.
