2015-08-05 09:32:00 | I am sorry pctek, but my gut instinct tells me to avoid this as sad as it may sound and I donate on Give A Little too. I really felt the 'asking' to give, didn't reach my heart, the way you spoke of yourself, didn't convince me you were related. You need to share more positives, share her goid life than a whole list of unfortunate events, as it does feel like theres bound to be more 'askings' in future and not many people would line up for that. And after all that, I've had a change of heart and will still donate. Cheers, KK

Ask Greg, he knows we are related. Share her life? Well, I have to be careful, she doesn't know I have done this....she wouldn't like it. She's like that.....she hasn't told quite a number of people about the health problem. She didn't even tell my brother -I told him. More askings? I doubt it.....she's 82, the cancer isn't her only health problem, it's the latest in a rather long list. My brother will have to move in with me, he'll get the house money....which he will need. So no, no more askings. |

2015-08-05 21:10:00 | This is not an easy comment to make as I think it is disgusting the way the Government treats older people in general. I cannot see a dishwasher as a necessary item, we haven't had a dishwasher in every house, this alone destroys the credibility of the post. On top of that you mention she doesn't know you are doing this, so I have to ask, has the traditional methods of help been tried? A grant for the funeral at least is good but I have friends that have had white-ware grants from Winz also.

2015-08-06 02:24:00 | It's not just a dishwasher...it's the home help and stuff too. But, you may not need a dishwasher, but for a woman who cannot stand without agony, cannot move until she has had 128mg opiates, has nerve damage from the spine destruction and is now having major surgery, well I think she DOES need one. She would argue that of course, but never mind...the point is to get her some help, She is 82 and has had arthritis for 42 years, never mind the list of other medical things I am not going to list or go into details about.

2015-08-06 02:30:00 | we've never had a dishwasher in our life! married for 40 years with 2 grandchildren and still wash the dishes the old fashiond way - MANUALY We have been married almost as long and have had a dishwasher for most of that time. No washing dishes manually - just put the dishes in the dishwasher and when it is full just turn it on. A few minutes at the most. Once they are washed it only takes five minutes to unload. How easy is that? Much easier than washing manually. What do your grandchildren think? They are most probably of the opinion that you are very old fashioned. Buy yourself a dishwasher. You won't regret it.
