1405852 2015-08-04 05:06:00 Hi all,
So I got a little adventurous when looking for a new phone to replace my Galaxy S3 and bought a Xiaomi MI4 from Aliexpress. First time ever using that website but the phone arrived today and although there was no holographic sticker on the box which should mean it is a fake (plenty around apparently) I installed the Mi Verification App and it came up legit.
It seems like a decent phone but what I can't stand is the inane bloatware and I can't uninstall most of it.
Does anyone know how to get rid of the rubbish or replace the OS with a tidier setup? I have seen Windows 10 had been made available for testing but the chance to test it out seems to be closed now.
Be interested to hear if anyone else has imported one of these and how they are getting on with it.

According to Google the Windows 10 rom is out

You can download the preview rom (en.miui.com)

1405854 2015-08-05 12:18:00 Unfortunately didn't seem possible any longer to download Windows 10 rom. However I have successfully installed Lollipop on this phone now. It's the first time I have tried doing such a thing with a phone and it was a bit hairy even when following instructions I got error messages that I really didn't know what I was doing when I realised I was out of my depth tossing a coin to select from the options presented... "root access possibly lost" etc...

I am a lot happier with the new android OS. The bizarre apps that came with MIUI6 would have driven me nuts. I will try to attach a screen shot of one called "App Manager" sounds official and serious but the contents are truly mind boggling!
