| 1405333 | 2015-07-25 06:51:00 | I expect they will have all the tweaks for Win 10, same as for Win 8.1 that enabled the OS to look just like Win95/98/XP/Win7 :) | Terry Porritt (14) | ||
| 1405334 | 2015-07-25 07:19:00 | Well ------ if Microsoft wont make the OS like people want, then third party programs will. Microsoft may have big plans, but not everyone has to like or accept defaults. | wainuitech (129) | ||
| 1405335 | 2015-07-25 10:46:00 | Windows is about choice and flexibility There are 1.6B devices. People will Always want different things, Microsoft provides some defaults, allow them to be modified and provides a platform for others to build on top of. This isn't a bad thing. |

Why then wont MS allow the Start menu ( as an example) to be altered as a person wants ? Other software manufactures make software that allows a person to change the styling to what they like. So its not like Microsoft cant do it, they simply wont. This may sound a bit blunt, but its the truth -- Take a look at the insider Program, the number of threads and posts saying similar. Simply put, a Desktop computer is NOT a phone and is used completely differently and always will be. If the OS's are really customizable then the options would be there. |

| 1405337 | 2015-07-25 20:55:00 | A 'lot of' customizable options for the desktop as regards appearance and colours of windows for example were removed from Win8.1, so third party options were required if one wanted some of the appearance of Win 7 back......more or less. Presumably this was to thin things back a bit in order to accommodate tiles which not all that many (desktop) people went a bomb on..... | Terry Porritt (14) | ||

The first thing I will do when I install my copy of Windows 10....is to make it LOOK like Windows 7. To me Windows 10 is bloody UGLY!.Microsoft have been asked by large numbers of users to be allowed the choice of 'Themes' as many people REALLY like the Aero look. How have Microsoft responded? ... with disdain. If you want large scale uptake....maybe Microsoft would do better to LISTEN to the customer! |

Re the post relating to Apple: They must be doing something right Hovering up 92% of profits in Mobile and being the richest company on this planet Lets have a look a second. 1.The Ipads, iphones and hand held devices have similar layouts - thats a good idea as they are hand held. 2. The Icons on apple devices - Look more pleasing, not some dull square that looks like its been drawn from someone in kindergarten. 3.And most important - A desktop computer is NOT a phone or tablet. They are used completely differently. Microsoft want all device to have the same interface, while that's OK, they HAVE to give people options - restrict them and either third party software will be created OR people will dump MS-- Currently MS still have the lead on desktop OS's world wide, but keep pissing people off and that will change - Its Microsoft's own fault. Wait for the false pat on the back/ statistics -----Read the headline, "Windows 10 most popular OS ever - now on more devices than any other OS". Why - Because MS force out W10 to end users, not because they want it. Wonder how many people will install W10 from the prompt and not really know what they have done till it reboots to a new OS ---WTF !!!! So far after mucking about with the 10240, the only feature that I personally find useful is the multi desktops. (something that other OS's have had for years) |
