1405295 2015-08-04 21:17:00 roughly 3000 people a minute are successfully upgrading Got proof, love to see it ?

Bet it doesn't say how many people are failing as well.

As for the amounts -- I highly doubt that's accurate.

Roughly then each day 4320000 & over a week by those figures 30240000 have changed ? and if that figure is still what MS are going on then by this time next year it will be 1577847000 upgrades.

Well done MS - created the biggest botnet in the world.

I say botnet because by default Windows is using other peoples computers to get updates and features that most have no idea its happening. (Some may be in for a shock when they get their internet usage bill )

Botnet - a number of Internet computers that, although their owners are unaware of it, have been set up to forward transmissions to other computers on the Internet.

to be fair, is this any different to Skype or the many music streaming services that can/do use a PC as a node ?
Not saying its OK, just saying is this the way of the future ?
Im starting to see high data usage on various company PC's thats usually traced back to Online radio/music streaming .

No one was forced to install Win10.
Its allways better to wait a few months while things are sorted out
I really cant understand the huge rush to install Win10 . Too many people got caught up in the hype .

if peopel are concerned about privacy, and used teh default install method, just recieved a very informative article that takes you through the steps on how to disable all most of the personal info back to Microsoft thats turned on by default:

As for the updating and using a persons computer to gain data from someone else, in the Settings/ Windows Updates/ Advanced options/ Choose How updates are delivered -- you can change various settings. :)

In Bold --- So true ;) Only reason I've installed it on a workshop PC is to learn where everything is so they can be repaired ( and plenty of that at the moment) :p

1405303 2015-08-05 08:01:00 Win 10 install worked fine - all smooth transition from W7 I have never bothered about start menu's, or perhaps Windows itself. I just see windows as a means to get on the internet. But now will focus/analyse the OP system a bit. I realize people heve a vested (or keen) interest to do so.

But...thanks for the insightful posts, and links in this thread and the tech preview thread. Waitech, Dugimodo, Gary, Mercer, MZee, et. I spent a lot of time to read most of the posts. Actually first time I have ever navigated through the start menu, control panel, device menu, System, etc, in a insightful way.

Even visited event viewer - amin events - but it logged over 350 errors (!) - yet I don't think it manifested itself notably during the install. Sources in error messages being: Device Set Up Manager; Distributed Com, MS App Model Runtime, Service Control Manager, etc. Also about machine default permissions not granting local activation permission for the COM Server. I guess then not to really worry or bother about these errors? As OP running fine...seemingly

I'd recommend deleting your Facebook account, don't use Google search and smash your Android phone too as that is tracking your every move
