1405362 2015-07-27 01:32:00 Nathan -- At what point do Microsoft actually implement something that people vote on for having a feature for example ?

This is following on from the suggestion of using Feedback.

Found a site yesterday, run by Microsoft, MICROSOFT WINDOWS SUGGESTION BOX.

One post for example, and there's a lot more like this -- Requests to bring back Aero windows-feature-suggestions (windows.uservoice.com) Theres over 50 thousand votes for it.

Another "add tabs to Windows Explorer/File Explorer. " over 30 thousand Votes.

Another section, on the right - Improved Experience, again the votes for various options are in the Thousands.

1405363 2015-07-27 02:07:00 I think the problem is people who have Windows, think they own their copy and so should have some input into what they would like.Forget it,you do not own it,you are only allowed to use it and Microsoft know best....How often have you heard / seen Microsoft tell you how they have 'Listened' to what the customer wants? Well truth is,as wainuitech has shown...they do not give a flying frog what you or any other user thinks. ruup (1827)

Cool, do you have some suggestions on how you take feedback from 1.6 billion users, some of which the feedback is diametrically opposed?

It is not fair to say Microsoft is not listening to feedback

5M people are giving feedback thru Windows Insiders alone, its being listened to and prioritised based on the number of devices that feedback is relevant to.

Also just remember what you are seeing is the July 29 release. There is another release 3 months from then, then another 3 months later, then another 3 months later and so on.

Its an ongoing project that will improve over time, and never be done, all based on your feedback.

. Hope for Microsoft sake, there are some updates / Fixes been done from 10240 that was released on the insider program . There are still lots of problems people are having . What would be ideal is if the majority of upgrades go without a hitch .

Just out of Interest Nathan -- Is the date the 29th New Zealand or 29th USA --- in the past since we are ahead of USA time wise we normally get to "try out" before other countries ? No doubt there will be some sitting on their computers at 12 . 01am trying to get the download (I wont be one of them- not that much of a hurry ) :) LOL

A couple of people have advised they will be calling at 8 . 30am for me come around, back up their machines then to upgrade them .

1405367 2015-07-27 09:40:00 As I do not like or need tiles or touch screens I will not be using W10. It is stable but has nothing for me that W7 hasn't got. I do like the Log in and desktop background which I now have on my W7, also changed the Start button. mzee (3324)

takes all of 10 seconds to unpin the tiles from the start menu in Windows 10, then you can take advantage of all the Windows 10 benefits

Thanks for confirming.

Now just to wait for the activation servers to fire up again. Had to reinstall on another PC, that had an earlier edition of the preview, now it wont activate. Insiders and MS saying they will after the 29th since the servers are current turned off ( so to speak).

+1. I really like the new start menu. It's a great balance of the live tiles and the old start menu. The only real thing I dislike about Win 10 is that the right click menu is sometimes designed for touch, which when you're using a keyboard and mouse means fewer options.
