| 1413233 | 2015-12-22 19:20:00 | Hi Guys Just wondering whether anyone may know the reason why the cursor "sticks" and stops working ? I've tried most versions of Linux on an older Sony Vaio and it happens with both touch pad and USB mouse ... everything runs OK otherwise. It seems to happen if its been sitting in one position too long. TAI SP8's Merry Christmas to all by the way ... only 2 more sleeps to go ... and thank heavens, only two more shopping days :-) |

| 1413236 | 2015-12-24 03:38:00 | What model is your laptop? When you say "sticks", does the cursor not respond to movement and/or mouse click? How about keyboard, is this still functional? Would really need to see your dmesg log before I assume what the issue could be. Just in terminal type dmesg > dmesg.log this will output it to a file named dmesg.log where you ran the command, you can then upload it so it can be looked over. Also, maybe a BIOS update could fix this issue, as it might be hardware more than a software issue. When this issue happens, close the lid and re-open it to see if brings it back to life. That may confirm to me what the issue would be if it works again. Cheers, KK |
