| 1413055 | 2015-12-16 22:30:00 | Has anyone found a solution to the Win 10 Mail error code 0x85010001 syncing the Inbox. I have two laptops that are reporting this error. I can use Edge mail OK at present to get me by but would like to have the use of Mail if the error can be fixed. | Swampy (2426) | ||
| 1413056 | 2015-12-16 22:53:00 | Run sfc /scannow from the CMD as Admin. Fixes most of the errors relating to mail. It pays to reboot afterwards even though it doesn't say to. | wainuitech (129) | ||

| 1413058 | 2015-12-16 23:50:00 | How do I use CMD as an administrator ? I am the only user and THOUGHT I had set myself up as the admin !!! Nope you wont have full admin rights. on W10: RIGHT click the start button, select Command prompt (Admin) type in sfc /scannow <Press Enter> Make sure you get the right CMD, as there are two listed, you MUST use the one that has (Admin) |

| 1413059 | 2015-12-17 00:33:00 | I see both command prompts, when I click command(admin) I get " cannot save cmd.zip to the folder " windows system32" When a choose a different folder and click cmd and enter the sfc /scannow , I still get the message" You must be an administrator to use sfc " | Swampy (2426) | ||
| 1413060 | 2015-12-17 01:02:00 | You could try running sfc /scannow at boot. To get there select Update and Security, Recover, Advanced Start Up, Restart Now, Trouble Shooting, Command Prompt. You then find the machine reboots, makes you select your account and password and then proceeds to the usual command prompt setup. cd \ and then sfc /scannow. WT will soon tell us if I have any of that wrong :) |

| 1413061 | 2015-12-17 01:05:00 | Errrrrrr You shouldn't be prompted to save anything. You right click the Start button then Left Click the command Prompt (Admin) If that's what you are doing, sounds a bit like the install is faulty. Otherwise do it another way: Press the Windows Key + R In the box type in system32 and press enter, in the search top right, type in CMD it will be a black Square - right click run as administrator, then do the sfc /scannow. WT will soon tell us if I have any of that wrong lol not always, I'm not the fountain of know everything. The command prompt on startup is VERY handy, some commands dont work from it though, Never tried the sfc /scannow, so it may or may not work. |

The command prompt on startup is VERY handy, some commands dont work from it though, Never tried the sfc /scannow, so it may or may not work. I can verify it does work. According to the 10 Forum Tutorial on the subject running sfc /scannow at boot will let it fix some things the it cannot get to when run from within windows. You may not know everything Wai but you sure know a lot more than I. In fact a large portion of my somewhat limited knowledge comes from reading your posts and those of some other forum members:) |

I'm off out to a social so will have another try to get this resolved tomorrow - Thanks Okay, that was a general 'to try " solution, as Windows 10 and live mail often break. bit more indepth -- looking up the actual error code appears a few had the problem and was related to firewall settings. AVG was really bad for it as well as Bitdefender. The bitdefender fix was Change firewall adapter settings from Home/Office to Trusted So depends on what security is being used ? |
