1412972 2015-12-15 11:47:00 Since converting to W10 from W7 my Join Me program on my ZTE S50 Skinny phone will not work as a Modem, but still works as a keyboard extension and file manage on USB. Is there any way of using the phone as a Modem without Join Me? mzee (3324)
1412973 2015-12-15 20:41:00 I think you set up tethering/portable hotspot using USB or Wireless. Need data of course. So something like settings - Connection - Network Connections - More Networks - Mobile Networks - then tethering and portable hotspots. Some Google search results pdf's for ZTE (goo.gl) tethering set up.

I once did similar for my laptop (when Xtra BB went down). Worked fine using my Samsung mobile as modem. However after I disconnected (i.e. got back on BB) the wireless light remained on orange, i.e. would not activate properly on my HP laptop (W7). I found a fix though on the HP site. The battery had to be removed then switched on...off or something like that.

1412974 2015-12-16 05:02:00 My phone does not have a 'tethering' setting. Despite ZTE saying that the program will not work with W10, all you have to do is set it up as a Modem, with user name, password and dial number *99#. It will then act as a modem with any version of Join Me. You have to use the original program to connect to USB for Keyboard & file management because the other Join Me's don't have the S50 listed. this works independently of the Modem so is not a problem. mzee (3324)
