| 1412584 | 2015-12-10 02:42:00 | This is just a minor irritant. I'm on Windows 7 64 bit.. Frequently after updating some programmes e.g. Ccleaner I look at MS Config Startup tab and find e.g. Ccleaner and some others with a tick in the box. I remove he ticks from those I don't want to run at startup and click Apply. I notice that there are several unticked boxes below - often with duplicate names where I have previously unticked them. I cannot see a method of removing those unticked boxes from displaying. Is this possible thanks. |

I say dangerous because remove the wrong items in the registry and you can sometimes screw up all sorts of things. FIRST-- MAKE A RESTORE POINT. The unsafer way -- Then open regedit, navigate to HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Shared Tools\MSConfig\startupreg. Expand out the list, Select and delete the keyto the corresponding entry that's unticked in MSCONFIG. "slightly" safer way ---- Open Ccleaner, on left-- tools/ Startup -- the ones that are unticked in MSCONFIG will be grayed out, carefully look at the entry / Description ,:stare: select it, then click Delete on the right. Remove the ones you dont want, once removed, reboot and the entry will be gone from msconfig. if something is not right -- then run system restore back to put them back. |
