536337 2007-03-27 20:33:00 I am about to go on a trip to Australia and want to use the internet connection in hotels and possibly wi-fi cafés. I am using Outlook 2003 on my laptop connecting to my work exchange server using RPC over HTTP. I understand that this type of connection uses SSL and is secure. Does that mean my login and password is safe when using this type of connection? I have just read about HotspotVPN in the April PC World and wonder if I should be using this while away? 536338 2007-03-27 21:47:00 I did some research on this a while ago and found that it is a secure way of connecting to your exchange server without the need for a VPN.
As it is using SSL everything is encrypted from end-to-end so your login & password are encrypted as well.

I used this while I was away overseas last year and it worked well.
