536037 2007-03-26 14:25:00 Is there any way that I can use the "send to" mail recipient within Word 2003 using Thunderbird? It used to work in with Office XP but is greyed out in Word 2003. bpt2 (6653)
536038 2007-03-26 23:16:00 Try a PressF1 search for those terms here on PressF1 - the query's been brought up before. (sorry - too lazy to do the search for you). Greg (193)
536039 2007-03-27 03:11:00 I had posed this question some months ago and got no answer...nor did I work out a solution. Even sent M$ a query about it but surprise surprise got no response.

If you do solve this problem, would appreciate it if you posted it in PF1

Good luck

536040 2007-03-27 04:02:00 My ancient outdated but still functioning Word 97 automatically picks the default mail application for "send to".
I just tried switching back to Outlook Express and back again Word uses whatever is the default.
So (presuming T'bird is your default mail client) do you have any option in Word 2003 to "use default mail client"?
Or maybe this is another MS "feature" to stop you making your own choices?

536041 2007-03-27 07:29:00 Agree with you coldot regarding dubious M$ features.
I have tried all kinds of ways to find a default mail client setting in Word 2003 but unless you have and Outlook account, everything stays grayed out

Still hoping...

536042 2007-03-27 07:52:00 what if you go into Internet Explorer, select Internet Options from the tools menu, click on the programs tab and select thunderbird as the email client?

Or if that doesn't work access' Set Program access and defaults' from the start menu, or from within 'add and remove programs?'
