| 535816 | 2007-03-25 09:06:00 | Hey Ive recently been having problems with my laptop. Here's what's been happening: When I double clicked on MS word on the desktop it started to open (the hour glass next to the mouse) then it just stoped loading (as if I never clicked on it) .... So I double click again and it takes a while but it comes up...then 5 minutes later the initial MS word doc opens up. Then, I clicked on start, settings, control panel and then the Start button stayed ... pushed in I suppose...like when you click on it it kinda gets pressed in. It stayed like that for a few mins, and in that time I couldn't do anything (If I tried to do anything in an open window it would just go to not responding) Then the control panel opened up and the start menu button went normal. There was another slowdown in MS word too where it just pretty much froze for ages...and I had to reboot. I know some of this might sound normal but my laptop isn't like that. It never freezes, it nevers lags (offline at least :P) Also, when I downloaded HJT and clicked on open in the Firefox download window it just pretty much froze for ages and I had to end task it. Here's my HijackThis log: Logfile of Trend Micro HijackThis v2.0.0 (BETA) Scan saved at 8:07:08 p.m., on 25/03/2007 Platform: Windows XP SP2 (WinNT 5.01.2600) Boot mode: Normal Running processes: C:\WINDOWS\System32\smss.exe C:\WINDOWS\system32\winlogon.exe C:\WINDOWS\system32\services.exe C:\WINDOWS\system32\lsass.exe C:\WINDOWS\system32\svchost.exe C:\WINDOWS\System32\svchost.exe C:\WINDOWS\SYSTEM32\ZoneLabs\vsmon.exe C:\WINDOWS\Explorer.EXE C:\WINDOWS\system32\brsvc01a.exe C:\WINDOWS\system32\spoolsv.exe C:\WINDOWS\system32\brss01a.exe C:\PROGRA~1\Grisoft\AVGFRE~1\avgamsvr.exe C:\PROGRA~1\Grisoft\AVGFRE~1\avgupsvc.exe C:\PROGRA~1\Grisoft\AVGFRE~1\avgemc.exe C:\Program Files\Dell\NICCONFIGSVC\NICCONFIGSVC.exe C:\WINDOWS\system32\svchost.exe C:\Program Files\Synaptics\SynTP\SynTPLpr.exe C:\Program Files\Synaptics\SynTP\SynTPEnh.exe C:\Program Files\Dell\QuickSet\quickset.exe C:\Program Files\Dell\Media Experience\DMXLauncher.exe C:\WINDOWS\system32\dla\tfswctrl.exe C:\Program Files\Google\Gmail Notifier\gnotify.exe C:\WINDOWS\system32\hkcmd.exe C:\WINDOWS\system32\igfxpers.exe C:\PROGRA~1\Grisoft\AVGFRE~1\avgcc.exe C:\WINDOWS\system32\igfxsrvc.exe C:\Program Files\Zone Labs\ZoneAlarm\zlclient.exe C:\Program Files\Java\jre1.5.0_11\bin\jusched.exe C:\Program Files\MSN Messenger\MsnMsgr.Exe C:\Program Files\Weather Watcher\ww.exe C:\Program Files\Digital Line Detect\DLG.exe C:\Program Files\Brother\Brmfcmon\BrMfcWnd.exe C:\Program Files\Brother\Brmfcmon\BrMfcmon.exe C:\Program Files\Weather Watcher\dl.exe C:\Program Files\Mozilla Firefox\firefox.exe C:\Documents and Settings\Troy Wilson\Desktop\New Folder\HiJackThis_v2.exe R1 - | 535817 | 2007-03-25 09:52:00 | I ran adware and spyware cleaners and fixed a couple of problems in each, rebooted and it's still the same. Something is seriously wrong - it's never been like this before...it's acting as if it has to run through 10000 brick walls to open anything. (Yes...that is a lame example.) | --Wolf-- (128) | ||

| 535820 | 2007-03-25 20:51:00 | Which Java download do I get from your sig Speedy? I removed all those you suggested (par Weather Watcher, I know what it is and I want to know the weather :P) The problem seems to not be as bad but it is still slighly there. I will do a defrag today (did one maybe a month ago) and see if that helps. I will also d/l and run that trojan remover. Thanks. |

| 535824 | 2007-04-01 15:40:00 | Hey Speedy, I hate to hijack this thread but I was wondering if you could look at my log too? I have 2 problems I don't quite understand. 1) I used ccleaner last night, and since then zone alarm alerts have come up showing the name of the programme and what it's asking, but all other text and buttons are gone from the alert (you can still accept/deny) 2) In the last 2-3 days Windows media player has had a couple of problems, one was I was listening to it while my virus scanner was going and the computer got the "blue screen of death" and restarted. Another time I was doing something (may have been a spyware scan) and windows media player was open and I got the blue screen + restart again. Log...
