2007-03-25 05:43:00 Instead of the usual thin, upright blinking line, in some dialogue boxes I'm getting a blinking black upright rectangle. Anyone know how this can be changed back to the normal cursor? OS XP Home SP2, Firefox. harolde (12036)
2007-03-25 05:51:00 Press the Insert key once and see if that helps. FoxyMX (5)
2007-03-25 06:27:00 Thx FoxyMX, but it doesn't change by pressing the Insert key. Opened a New Message to write an email but there the bl***y thing was. harolde (12036)
2007-03-25 06:34:00 Maybe it's Malware causing this. Get Hijack This and post it's log file here. radium (8645)
2007-03-25 06:41:00 Have a look at Start > Control Panel > Mouse and try to reset it......... Scouse (83)
2007-03-25 06:48:00 May do nothing but this always works when I have mouse problems - Change your screen resolution to anything, then change it back.

This may or may not work, if it doesn't check you haven't installed any packs or anything that might of come with a new text cursor.

2007-03-25 08:10:00 Thx for the many replies. Am letting radium look at the Hijack this log. Can't imagine any malware getting past all my defences, but who knows. Will try the other suggestions while awaiting radium's prognosis. harolde (12036)
2007-03-25 08:16:00 Scouse, have tried various mouse settings then restarted, but _still_ have the #$%@^! harolde (12036)
2007-03-25 08:21:00 radium, c/p the Hijack This log but it doesn't appear in my reply. Could it be that it was too long? Will have another go at sending it. harolde (12036)
2007-03-25 08:29:00 WolfForest22, changed resolution from 100 to 60, then back again. No change but will leave it at go back & change to 80 & do a restart, after trying to post the hijack log again. harolde (12036)
