536859 2007-03-29 23:45:00 I just downloaded and installed the latest Firefox, and it said it was turning off the Java 6 program, as they weren't compatible! Is this happening to everyone, or is it time for me to think about reformatting. I know, pretty extreme, but things are starting to slow a little. LOL

Xp SP2, running 512 ram, (AMD Athlon XP 2400 + 2.00GHZ) is what it says in system properties. Firefox 2.0.0.3 TIA

536862 2007-03-30 01:45:00 That's odd. Sun's Java download site offers ver 5 as the latest. Perhaps you should uninstall Java, and download (java.com) and install the version that's currently available. Greg (193)
536863 2007-03-30 11:29:00 I think Version 6 might be only for vista Overdrive_5000 (4950)
536864 2007-03-30 19:08:00 Although I dislike Java, whenever I need to install it, I follow the links on the Mozilla knowledge base page:

kb.mozillazine.org

Its always worked well for me todate.

No - Java always releases for cross-platform compatibility. They should have a Linux version of 1.6 (version 6) somewhere.
