| 536718 | 2007-03-29 05:57:00 | Im stuck with this stupid looking font in my browser after I installed IE7. (It's lighter & a bit harder to read). I used the clear font tool and it made the font look a bit better in web pages it makes my desktop icons look like crap. I have got around this before on other computers by using a reg key to disable the runonce webpage after you install IE7. I have tried uninstalling IE7 and reinstalling it with no luck. I have tried changing fonts in IE and tried the clear type fonts utility. But I don't like the way it makes the icons look. Does anybody have a method that maybe I haven't tried? Cheers |

In the Effects dialog box, select the Use the following method to smooth edges of screen fonts check box . Click ClearType in the list . I guess you might just need to and un-check the box . |

I thought maybe it had to do with my graphics card or driver. Anyhow I left it and went ahead and installed IE7 disabled the runonce as before... And it fixed the problem. :) Still I'm unsure exactly how installing IE7 did this. |
