536514 2007-03-28 21:09:00 Hi guys,
I was interested in possibly reformatting my HP PC just to clean up the rubbish that has accumulated over the last 4yrs or so(I have never done this before!)
But for some reason, HP never gave me any Windows restore/installation disks with it, which comes to my question. Is it possible to use some sort of homemade 'bootdisk/cd/dvd' to get around this?
Thanks,
Paul

536515 2007-03-28 21:34:00 With the HP / Compaqs you usally have to press F10 while it has the HP / Compaq logo on the screen when you first turn it on.
This will run the recovery setup from the hidden partition on the hard drive.
Make sure you backup any data you want to keep first!

As well as using F10 to format, you can also usually start the procedure,
from an HP listing in the all programs list.

cheers,
