537253 2007-03-31 12:02:00 I too remember compatablility issues with different versions of MS Backup and stopped using it as a result.

Win XP says the following:
msbackup: Use the ntbackup command for computers with tape drives, or the xcopy command for computers without tape drives. For more information about the ntbackup command, see Ntbackup. For more information about the xcopy command, see Xcopy.

And under ntbackup?
"You cannot restore files from the command line using the ntbackup command. "

Ah well, am currently installing msbackup on an old win 98 machine and will see how it goes.

537254 2007-03-31 12:08:00 Win98 backup made in 1998. These files are older and not compatible. Will have to play with Win95. Mercury (1316)
537255 2007-03-31 12:21:00 Okay, I give up. Its time for bed anyway.

Does anyone remember, without putting too much effort into it seeing it is minor stuff, whether it is possible to install MS backup from a Win 95 disk onto a Win 98 machine? If so, does anyone remember where the files are on the disk?

If it's in the too hard basket I'll just flag it and dump the disks. Games are: Hoyles, Rainforest, Treasure Cove and Zookeeper. All from the mid 90's.

We have an 8 year old coming to stay in a few weeks and I thought I'd consolidate the games in one place and get him, if its raining, to go through them and see which ones are still worth playing (and which ones won't play due to computer upgrades!). So far I've put around 60 disks onto a fraction of one CD. Times have certainly changed.
