2007-04-01 07:10:00 | hi i recently tried to merge to partitions, a 50gig and a 250gig. I used paartition magic pro and selected the files that were on the 50gig to be moved to the 250gig. It went completely terrible and i thought i lost everything on the 50gig but after much effort i got it all back using GetDataBack for NTFS. so i now have the two partitions merged and all is well except for one issue. When it merged the partitions it createsd a folder for the stuff off the 50gig. It appears empty but i cant do anything with it ie open move or delete. Why not? it just says its not accessible access is denied...what do i have to do to get rid of it? cheers, huey

2007-04-01 08:26:00 | Are u using XP? If you are, is it Home or Pro? And I take it, both partitions were NTFS before u merged them?

2007-04-01 08:27:00 | yeah xp home and both are ntfs, the drive seems fine, i havnt had any issues with it | hueybot3000 (3646) | |
2007-04-01 08:37:00 | Did u boot into safe mode, as stated on the MS site I posted? Note You must be logged on to the computer with an account that has administrative credentials. If you are running Microsoft Windows XP Home Edition, you must start the computer in safe mode, and then log on with an account that has Administrative rights to have access to the Security tab.

2007-04-01 09:10:00 | mine...i installed windows and formatted the drive and created the partition and merged, its mine lol only i use it | hueybot3000 (3646) | |
2007-04-01 09:18:00 | If u can install games in normal mode (not safe mode), then u have Admin access . Its only coz u have Home, you cant or wont see the security tab (like u said) . in normal XP, as Home doesnt have the simple file sharing option like Pro . So u cant untick it like u can with XP Pro . Which would have been easier, then u wouldn't have to boot into safe mode to do what I posted . What issues exactly do u have with Games? Installing them? Uninstalling them?
