| 537845 | 2007-04-02 23:49:00 | Following the advice in this months mag, I decided to run the advisor before going any further. I downloaded it from MS and installed .NET framework as it said it was a requirement. I installed the upgrade advisor and it completed and opened up the wizard. I clicked the next button and everything stopped. The hourglass came up and was still there an hour later. I opened task manager and it said the Advisor was running. I stopped it and reinstalled it. Tried again but the same result. Should it take over an hour to do its thing? The PC has an Athlon 3000+ cpu, Asus K8n mobo, a gig of ram and a 256mb Radeon 9550 graphics card and is running XP Pro SP2. While I believe it should run Vista ok, I was hoping to gather some data on driver upgrades. |
