538230 2007-04-04 09:13:00 Hey guys,

Been trying to play an old classic game (Jedi Knight Dark Forces 2) with my brother via it's TCP/IP setting. We have each hosted games and given each other our ip addresses but we can't find each other's game.

I was reading this: www.speedguide.net

But a lot of that stuff doesn't make sense to me. I've already turned on DMZ (Opens all ports) tried disabling my firewall, etc.

Anyone got a simple solution?

Thanks.

538231 2007-04-04 11:09:00 Have you opened any pots on your router. The person who is hosting has to open a port on there router. The instructions for the game should till you what port to open.

538232 2007-04-04 21:11:00 We're talking a 1996 game here. I don't think we even have the instructions.

We both have all ports open.

UPDATE: I was able to find his game, but was not able to join it

538233 2007-04-05 01:38:00 Hi, I loved that game....cool jedi tricks and all....LOL. anyway, the dmz is no good unless both pc are on the dmz, however i wouldnt recommend doing that. I would check the game manufacturer web site for the port setting and have port forwarding those port to the ip address of your pc.

Are you both playing on the same network?. If so you dont need port settings.

from...www.portforward.com

We will list a series of lines here that will show you exactly how to forward the ports you need to forward. Star Wars Jedi Knight II Jedi Outcast requires you to forward the 28060,28061,28062,28070-28081 ports.
