538822 2007-04-07 08:40:00 I recently purchased a "GIGABYTE GV-R955128D RADEON 9550 AGP" card for my PC from TradeMe.co.nz. It didnt come in a box and had no CDs with it. I have downloaded drivers off the internet so its all go, but i'm just curious to know if im using the right driver or not.
Could someone tell me where to find the correct driver on the web please and also if anyone knows what would have been on the CD if i had bought it from a shop that'd be cool too. I want to know if there were any cool utilities on the CD or not!
Cheers.

538823 2007-04-07 08:57:00 Did u get them from here (ati.amd.com)

Thats if ur using XP 32 bit Home or Pro.

Dont forget to install .NET framework 2 FIRST, or they wont work properly

I wouldn't worry about the cd, it wouldn't have anything worthwhile on it.
And it's best to get the latest drivers of the net anyway.

538825 2007-04-07 09:05:00 Yeah i tried d/ling that catalyst software suite but when i installed it some of the things wouldnt work! Said something about .NET framework or something! Dude, im a noob man, i dont know what .NET framework is!!!!! LOL anyway i got another driver from some random site and its working!! Is this a bad idea??? springa886 (10558)
538826 2007-04-07 09:12:00 For the Catalist Drivers you need .net framework

Get it from here (www.microsoft.com)

Install the .Net framework before you install your driver.

This way you will be able to have the latest driver which is best

538827 2007-04-07 09:14:00 I would get .Net Framework 1.1 (www.microsoft.com) and 2 (www.microsoft.com)

Install 1.1 then its updates then 2. Then its updates, before u install the ATI drivers if u use them.

You can go to the Windowsupdate site and do a scan....for the updates.

Up to you, if u want to use whatever you're using. Whether theyre the right ones, or whether or not they'll give u the right options etc.

538828 2007-04-07 09:18:00 If I do install the ATI drivers, what should I do about the ones im using now? How do i delete them? Ill try that .net framework install and see what happens. springa886 (10558)
538829 2007-04-07 09:24:00 Just leave them and update them.

Also Speedy why not get .Net Framework 3? I have 3 and have found it to be good... No problems?

538830 2007-04-07 09:52:00 I just d/led that .NET Framework 1.1 and HOLY SLOW D/L SPEED BATMAN!!! My D/L speed was running at 13KB\sec.... it was supposed to take like 20 mins, it almost took an hour!!! But thats a subject for a different thread.

I dont know how to update the drivers im currently using, im just gunna install that Catalyst software suite over the top and hope it works!!!

P.S Yeah, why not .Net 3?? Should i D/L that too?
