538466 2007-04-05 09:42:00 Hi I am looking for (freeware) software to rip music from a Dvd and record it to a cd, I belive the format on the cd might end in .cda ( is this correct?)
I just want the music on a cd to play on my sony walkman or cd player.
Any help or ideas would be greatly appreciated :)

538467 2007-04-05 09:52:00 its a little complicated . judging by your post probably not the best thing to try doing off the cuff .

basic its the same as ripping a movie off a dvd (rg divx conversion etc), where you crack the copy protection, rip the files, extract the video and audio . except you only keep the sound and convert it to wave to burn to cd .

try ripping cd's first and burning music cd's . then check out the many dvd converting sites .

538469 2007-04-05 10:17:00 cda is just the name/extension. wave is the actuall format/codec used. tweak'e (69)
