| 538877 | 2007-04-08 20:19:00 | Is this it ? (h10025.www1.hp.com) And does this (h10025.www1.hp.com) look like the mobo? Thanks Speedy, not the M/B but set me on the right track. The Computer is a HP Pavilion a340a and the M/B a Glendale-GLA (Imperial_GL_VE) I Seem to be able to find on that HP site everything I dont want to know, but not the BIOS manufacturer or the Beep Codes. :D The Video is on-board so there is no Card to change. (drcspy) :( |

(drcspy) :( Forget looking for the codes, believe us. It probably the graphics. You could try finding a PCI graphics card and installing that/ But if it was me I'd ditch the MB. Which most likely means the whole thing. Another reason I hate integrated graphics without an AGP or PCI slot. |

(drcspy) regardless of what type of video 'card' you have be it onboard or a true 'card' MY suggestion was designed to enable you to ascertain whether it's faulty by bypassing the 'original' video output and using a pci/agp card........IF that then gets you a picture of ANY sort and stops the beeps then you have found the problem.... |

| 538880 | 2007-04-09 10:23:00 | Thank you dcspy, I completely understand your logic However, Im an Old Fart, Wrinkly Member, who likes to know what it is some bas..rd is trying to tell me when he spent millions of dollars imbedding a Beep code in his BIOS . It may well be that a new Video Card solves a lot of the Beeeeeeeping problems, but then again, so may new RAM, new CPU, and so on. I guess my age forbids me from taking a Shot Gun approach to these matters, but if all else fails, thats exactly what Ill do. |

| 538881 | 2007-04-09 14:03:00 | yes well I also understand your logic.......it'd be nice to find out the meaning of your particular beep code....from long experience, and a goodly pool of parts, I tend to use the process of 'replace and eliminate' ......... | drcspy (146) | ||
