| 539736 | 2007-04-10 06:01:00 | I have got a MASSIVE document, what it is is a history of invoices from our store and there has to be atleast 5,000 lines of invoice numbers here. What I want to do is weed out certain lines from this document (its actually using a web based POS system which looks like THIS (img412.imageshack.us)). I can copy and paste (hopefully) all the information into a Excel document and then I want to delete anything that doesn't say Nokia or Motorola or Sony Ericsson under the Description section (the 4th colum). So effectivaly having only having Nokia or Motorola in the document so I use the information instead of having to scroll down and then find the next Nokia and then down again and find the next one ... I hope this makes sense lol |

This requires that the row headngs are in the preceeding row to the data. You Select the row with the heading the use the Data/Auto Filter Command. Open the Drop down box and select Custom. Set the first the Criteria to does not begin with Nokia then select the And option and set the second Criteria to does not begin with Motorola Hit the OK button and Select the remaining rows then delete them - then set the drop down box to all and the Nokia and Motorola phones will display. |
