Depends on the cable runs (and cost) vs the cost of the switch.

Bear in mind that there can be hot & cold spots in your WiFi coverage in the house, depending on reflections, etc, so not having good reception in one room doesn't necessarily mean your neighbours can't piggyback on your connection. Use MAC filtering and/or encryption (WPA if possible, WEP otherwise) to stop this (but get it all working unencrypted first).
You allow them to surf only a few boring sites :D . Anyway up to 100mW ain't much to play with. I agree the average punter should secure their wireless network, but its more fun to play around with your neighbours (wireless wise).

539761 2007-04-10 09:26:00 Have a look at the back panel. If there's an RJ45 (8pin) socket on it, it'll have the interface. (Or even look at the Hardware Manager page ;) ) . Graham L (2)

If its got an RJ45 plug on the back you should be fine. Most 2000 vintage computers would have a PCI network card. Most motherboards for the 5 years have had onboard ethernet.

Just checked, your g604t can connect 4 pc's via ethernet cables.

Back to wireless, sometimes you need to move the modem to get better signal coverage and/or the wireless aerial on the pc (if it is possible). There are many ways to tweak wireless connections. You often need to optimise your wireless installation.

539763 2007-04-10 09:35:00 The 604t is a 4 port switch also isn't it.

Sorry, it does not read well does it. Too much computing during the day.
