| 539764 | 2007-04-10 10:59:00 | Hi there ^^ Came across this little problem while trying to fix a friend's comp and cant seem to fix it, although find this problem quite interesting . Hope some one here can help out ^^ . Problem: Have this external HDD connected to a PC via USB . When wanting to open it (by double clicking on it through My Computer) Acrobat Reader loads up instead of explorer . I've gone to the Properties of the drive and under AutoPlay tab have played around with the settings (eg Restore Default, have Win Explorer open up the HDD) . Yet none of changes affects the HDD being loaded up by Acrobat Reader . Due to no changes seem to affect Acrobat Reader from being loaded when trying to access the external HDD, I've uninstalled Acrobat Reader . So now when ever I've tried to access the external HDD I get a dialog box asking me to find Acrobat Reader . exe to open up the 'file' . So far I've no chosen any program as I do no know what program actually is used when trying to open a folder or view a HDD . Although I did found 'explorer . exe' in Windows folder, though dont know if that is the exe that is used to open up folder and HDDs . So yeah, would just like to ask how exactly do I get an external HDD to open up in the normal folder explorer thingy . Or better yet . . . whats wrong? Hope you guys get my problem >_< Many thanks ^^ |
