| 539023 | 2007-04-08 12:48:00 | Just a question. I upgraded to Vista and am hesitating to dowmload that dreadful program realplayer again for my .rm files. i hate it, as it comes with an ongoing stream of products that I don't want and is not very stable. I wonder, shall i convert all my rm files with VirtualDubMod or is there another good viewer for rm files that I can use. What would you do? Cheers Johan |

| 539024 | 2007-04-08 12:54:00 | Will Winamp play .rm files? or there might be some other players out there that play absolutely all types of audio/video files. Edit: No, Winamp will not currently work with any Real audio/video files. |

| 539027 | 2007-04-08 16:08:00 | I agree with all that has been said. However I was getting popup messages in vista saying the media player classic has compatibility issues. It still worked but the screen quality wasn't great. After a bit of searching I found Gom player. Plays rm files perfectly and allows you to adjust the contrast, brightness etc. Also comes with a graphic equalizer. If you install the quicktime alternative it will also play QT and Mov files as well. (QuickTime player is another player I dislike) Its also free... www.gomplayer.com |

| 539029 | 2007-04-08 22:07:00 | Go get Real Player Alternative (www.free-codecs.com) To play real media files with the provided Media Player. Otherwise try getting Mediacoder (http://mediacoder.sourceforge.net/) This will allow you to convert RM files to another format like MP3, Avi etc Mediacoders graphical interface takes some getting used to though. It's quite messy. |
